first you have to know that these types of things dont just happen and you have to have a positive attitude and really get in there and study. you have to take all of your notes and go through them every night, no exceptions! This is the only way to get all that stuff to stick, if you see it a million times you will think about it in your sleep! and also you have to calm down if your a bad test taker, if you think that your going to do bad on a test, than guess what your going to fail that test. you have to give yourself credit and say to yourself "i reviewed forever and i know everything there is to know about print your subjet here i can do this"! my biggest piece of advice is to not gloat if you get a good, really good grade because other people who got a bad grade will hate your guts 4life!!!!

  1. Study hard
  2. Quiz yourself

Those are the only ways to get a good grade on a test.

You may also benefit from learning to spot the things that are most important about any given subject. Those are the things that you cannot overlook.

Study and learn testing strategies.

I am going to take the SATs soon. Went to a site called www.examville.com and I take online practice tests there. The tests are timed and it's helping improve. I can do from my home computer. You can check out the site if you want, I am sure it will help you.

There are many ways to improve your testing abilities - read some of the Related Questions for some more help, also.

  • Be sure that you have studied the information that the teacher says will be on the test - that's obviously the most easy to fix!
  • Make a Study Deck as soon as you know what's going to be on the test - get a pack of index cards (some people cut each card in half to make 2 smaller cards that fit into your pocket easier). Write a test question on the front of a card, and the answer on the back. Whenever you have a spare couple of minutes (waiting in line, at the stop light, before class starts), go through the deck - look at a question and see if you can answer it without looking. If you can, put that card at the bottom of the deck; if you can't answer it, look at the answer and repeat it a couple of times, then put THAT card back into the MIDDLE of the deck so you'll see it again. When you get all the way to your first correct question, you'll really know that test!
  • The night before the test, get out your notebook - read how to take good notes, and make sure your notes ARE good ones! Read over the outline of the material you'll need, and see if you can "answer" the headings by telling the material without looking.
  • The night before the test, GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP! Your brain isn't going to work very well if you stay up all night and it's exhausted.
  • The day of the test, eat a good breakfast - no junk food, no energy drinks! You want good, solid food that's going to stay with you (if you're like me and always in a hurry, a slice of toast with peanut butter is great).
  • Right before the test, take some deep breaths, tell yourself "I can do this!" and make sure you have all your equipment - pens or pencils, paper, whatever you'll need for the test.
  • AFTER the test - once you get the results, read over the ones you missed! Figure out why you missed them, and learn that information for the next time you take a test.

Good test takers are just people who are prepared, so learn how to prepare for the test and you'll do much better.

Please remember - not everyone is good at taking tests, so if you don't make an "A" on the test, don't think you're a failure! So long as you're doing your BEST, whatever grade you make is OK (even if your parents want you to make ALL A's - tell 'em your Learning Tips Teacher said so!).

Does the sentence Pierre never studies he is making a mistake if he thinks he will have a good grade on the test make sense?

No. It should be two sentences 1. Pierre never studies. 2. He is making a mistake ... etc. Yes, except it is actually two sentences: "Pierre never studies. He is making a mistake if he thinks he will have a good grade on the test." Also, I would use the word "get" instead of "have." I don't think "have" is grammatically incorrect or anything, but most people say "get a good grade" not "have a good grade." So then it would be: "Pierre never studies. He is making a mistake if he thinks he will get a good grade on the test."
