∙ 14y agoIf you only have one printer connected to your computer then Windows will set that as the default as well as putting a big green tick or check mark next to the printer. If you have more than one printer connected to your computer then you need to left click on the printer you want to be default, right click to bring up the menu and select default in the menu

You seem to be asking your question wrong you can not get your printer to print anything but you have ink?
Are you sure you're selecting the correct printer? Sometimes a computer will attempt to send a document to a non-existent or a former printer. (assuming windows) Go to Control Panel then Printers, it may be "Printers and Faxes", depending on your system. Check which printer is 'default'. The default printer will have a check mark by it. If the wrong printer is selected as default, "right click" on the correct printer and then select the option, "set as default printer". If you don't find your printer in the list, you may need to install it using the manufacturers installation software, or you may need to find a "driver" over the internet.

Using standard tools you cannot do that because a default printer is defined by the operating system. In windows xp you can have only one default printer.
