On a 1999 Mercury Tracer , 2.0 liter four cylinder engine : According to the 1999 Mercury Tracer maintenance shedule : ( inspect at 120,000 miles ) According to the Gates website : ( inspect at 120,000 miles , replace if required , but I noticed according to the Gates website that it is an INTERFERENCE engine )
What if you have a cracked piston and a blown head gasket Can a 1998 mercury tracer be saved with these problems?
By a reputable mechanic and every 60,000 miles. ========================================================== The 1999 Mercury Tracer scheduled maintenance guide shows to inspect the timing belt on the 2.0 liter , 1999 Mercury Tracer engine at 120,000 miles, and the Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) shows to inspect the timing belt at 120,000 miles , replace if necessary To be on the safe side , I would replace the timing belt before that

The radio lights are supposed to come on when you turn on your headlights and adjust with the rest of your dashboard lights. For most models you hold down the clock button or RDS button for a couple seconds then use the seek button till you get to hours the push the button again till you get to minutes. Alot easier to go here 1999 mercury mountaineer owners manual…

No ... the body and drivetrains are completely different. All Cougars until 1997 were rear-wheel drive and used a completely different frame. Cougars 1999 and onward are based on a Ford Contour, are front-wheel drive and a completely different drivetrain setup. __Edit__ while all that is well and good the 2000 cougar and the 94 tracer are both front wheel drive, but their flywheels are not compatible.
