The 3.0 litre V6 engine in a 1995 Nissan Maxima has a timing CHAIN
Have you tried looking on the engine block and on the harmonic balancer?

No it will not, they are 2 different designs.
ignition timing or cam timing. see my profile for link. answers both.
From under the car. It's on the backside of the engine between the engine and firewall. Just about smack in the middle.
There are about 7 sensors on the engine that are to reduce emissions.
It should match as long as they have the same engine

If it is a 4.3L engine it is located behind the harmonic balancer, passenger side.
If there is a pinging sound in a 1995 Honda Civic engine, the engine could be out of oil. If the engine was operated with no oil for a period of time, the rings and pistons could have become damaged or broken.

Assuming there are no DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) I would go back to basic tune-up procedures like spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor and base timing. A check for vacuum leaks also.
Directly under the intake manifold on the passenger side of the engine. If you have thin arms, it is possible to reach it from above the engine. Otherwise, if you remove the passenger side tire, you will find it there.
A 4.3L engine with throttle body injection (TBI) would require 41 to 47 psi fuel pressure.
There are two types of motors for this year. The first one is a 2.0 SOHC ( Single Over Head Cam). Then there is a 2.0 DOHC (Dual Over Head Cam).
