by turning the distributor
This is a computer controlled timing engine. Turning the distributor alone can cause engine damage. Loosen distributor. Start engine, unplug timing connector under the glove compartment (brown wire with black tracer, single wire disconnect clip - black) the engine idle will slow. Time motor to 0-2 degrees. Tighten distributor, doublecheck the 0-2 degrees. Plug connector back together. You will see that the computer will reset the timing to 8-10 degrees.
That requires an OBD2 engine scanner to set the timing. The timing is electronic controlled. You can NOT use a timing light it won't work.

what are the timing marks on a chev 305 motor for the year 1995.
It is not timed with a timing light. It is set to 0 deg with a scan tool.
It is set by the computer. As long as you put the distributer in at the correct location the computer does the rest.
There is no timing adjustment on fuel injected models the ignition timing is set by the ECU . Regards:
This is done the same as the 1995 Mazda MX6. The answer is posted.
you dont, its electronically controlled
You don't, it is controlled by the ECM.
if it is tbi you have to unplug the est, it is a single wire (tan/blk stripe) get a timing light and set the base timing at 0 degrees, then shut off the engine plug the est back in . unhook the neg batt terminal for 30 seconds to a minute , that will clear the codes, then put it back on and crank the engine , the timing should be set.

losen the distribiter have the eltronc advance un pluged normal locater on leaft side by fire wall a singel wire look 4 your makes with a timing light
timing is computer controlled there is no way to advance or retard the timing without changing the chip in the computer
First why do want to? timing is never a needed adjustment unless the distributor has been removed.
The related link shows in detail
Assuming a 1.6L engine, timing is generally controlled by the timing belt. Can adjust the timing by loosening the front lower bolt on the distributor and then rotating the distributor clockwise or counter clockwise. Use a timing light to set timing correctly. I believe it is 10 BTDC
ZERO TDC / Top Dead Center
It should be listed on a sticker near the fan shroud. My 1995 astro is supposed to be set at 0 degrees below top dead center. use a timing light to adjust the distributor accordingly. .
