how do you set the timing for a 1997 Chevy 350 5.7 engine
where to set timing for a 1988 ford ranger 2.2l
trying to set base timing on a 97 Chevy c1500 with a 5.7 engine the wire to disconnect to set base timing is ?
The only thing you can do is set the basic timing by ear good enough to get it running If you just put the distributor in the engine. The timing is not ajustable it is controled by the computor. It requires an engine scanner to set the timing, not a timing light.
what is the answer to the question i asked
That requires a OBDII engine scanner. You CANNOT use a timing light
Most modern engines have a computer which controls all aspects of engine operation, including timing. Therefore, it is impossible to set the timing on these engines. It is possible that your engine is not computer controlled, but unlikely.
What is the timing for a 1998 ford ranger 2.5l
The timing on a 1997 Dodge Ram is not set with a timing light. The distributor rotor is lined up with the mark on the pick up plate when the engine is at tdc to set base timing. The timing is then fine tuned with a scan tool. The scan tool is used to set it exactly to 0 degrees.
how do you set timing on 110cc engine
There is no provision for setting the ignition timing. The timing is set by the computer by way of engine sensors sending signals to it by such things as temperature, load, speed, and intake air.
