Niños = most common word for Children in Spanish when used to refer to a group of boys and girls, otherwise it means boys
Jóvenes = Young ones
Chicos = Little ones (when used to refer to a group of boys and girls, otherwise it's little boys)
Chivos = Kids (literally goats) - This is a colloquial term not widely used.
Hijos = Children - only when referring to your own children or the children of a particular person, otherwise it means sons.
