You didn't say what year so here goes. On older models you need to remove the plastc grill piece to access it. On newer models there is a L shaped pin on the top of the headlight that when pulled up releases the headlight assembly.
bake it in the oven and it will come apart nicely
Actually.. to take the headlight lens apart, put the Oven on 200, put the headlight assembly in oven for a few minutes at a time, as the headlight assy heats up, the adhesive will loosen up making it easy to remove the lens. For a demonstration, go to Youtube and type in "How to remove headlight lens from assembly"
you can't. You have to replace the whole headlight assembly, it doesn't come apart. check the junk yards or eBay it's cheaper.
when mine had this prblem the planetary gear blew apart.
On my 1993 K1500 Silverado, it is behind the heater/ac blower assy. However, I can not find any info on how to get the assy apart, or where it is connected to the dash switch.
I opened mine by placing in the oven at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes. When putting it back together make sure you re-silicone it close or water will leak in.
I don't think so, they're two totally different headlight assembly's, but then again I may be wrong, auto companys are always using the cheaper way out. Just take it apart anyway, and record your steps as you go so you'll be able to put it back together.
If the starter makes no attempt to crank the engine and you did not disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery during the clutch job, maybe the battery drained from something left on while you had the truck apart (ignition left on, doors left open, etc).
No.
== == This also applies to the 2001 GMC Jimmy. The headlight assembly is held in place as one entire unit. In between the battery and the headlight assembly unit are two tabs that when pulled upward (by hand) will release the housing from the vehicle. (VERY EASY once you know). The headlight assembly is now held to the vehicle ONLY by wires, so don't let it drop and break. It's now just a matter of bulb replacement from the backside of the headlight assembly. Do this by turning the bulb in it's socket until the little catches line up with the open slots and poll the light bulb out. Do NOT touch the glass portion of the new bulb you are installing if it is a halogen bulb. Doing so will severely shorten the life of the bulb since contaminants on your hands cause the bulb to quickly overheat and die. Once the bulb is changed and plugged back into the wires, put the headlight assembly back in place by aligning it and poke the two plastic pegs on the back of the headlight assembly into the two square holes in the front of the vehicle. Now slide the two tabs you originally pulled up to release the headlight assembly, back down into place making sure the "slots" at the bottom of sliding tabs catch the square plastic pegs on the back of the headlight assembly. Do NOT pound the sliding tabs back down. Doing so will break the square pegs off of the back of the headlight assembly and pounding is not necessary if you have them properly in the square holes and all of the way in. call the locksmith back.
The throttle position sensor is actually apart of the throttle plate actuator assembly and must be replaced as a unit.
