BCs are highly intelligent dogs who are bred to work, work, work all day long and need mental and physical stimulation in order to be happy. Because they are so smart and look for things to "work on," they are prone to obsessive behaviors like chasing shadows.

There are many good books on care and keeping of BCs. If you go to PetSmart or Petco, they have these magazines where each one is for the breed - so it's a crash course in Border Collies in like 100 pages.

Like any other dog, a rough collie especially, needs a lot of attention. A rough collie has to be considered as a member of your family in order to be loved a cared. A collie needs a place where he can run and if you don't have any space like flats , you should take him/her at least once a day for a walk. If you live in hot places, ensure that your collie can resist such hot places. Make sure that your collie sleeps inside, or if you do not want him in your house, make sure that he has a kennel so he can protect himself from sand fly. The rough collie is an amazing dog, both from appearance and character.

it has to be brushed everyday and washed once a month. If you are on holiday, make sure that your dog is taken good care of either by a family mmber of friend. The collie needs someone he knows and trust.
