Border collie's are very high in energy and need a big garden and toys to entertain them. Toys help to keep border colllies mentally stimulated. As border collies are very intelligant they need a lot of room to run around and play!
Hopefully, you will have done your research BEFORE you get the Border Collie.
BCs are highly intelligent dogs who are bred to work, work, work all day long and need mental and physical stimulation in order to be happy. Because they are so smart and look for things to "work on," they are prone to obsessive behaviors like chasing shadows.
There are many good books on care and keeping of BCs. If you go to PetSmart or Petco, they have these magazines where each one is for the breed - so it's a crash course in Border Collies in like 100 pages.
Hi,
Like any other dog, a rough collie especially, needs a lot of attention. A rough collie has to be considered as a member of your family in order to be loved a cared. A collie needs a place where he can run and if you don't have any space like flats , you should take him/her at least once a day for a walk. If you live in hot places, ensure that your collie can resist such hot places. Make sure that your collie sleeps inside, or if you do not want him in your house, make sure that he has a kennel so he can protect himself from sand fly. The rough collie is an amazing dog, both from appearance and character.
it has to be brushed everyday and washed once a month. If you are on holiday, make sure that your dog is taken good care of either by a family mmber of friend. The collie needs someone he knows and trust.
I have got a rough collie and wanted to share with you some skills.
Hope this helps
Training a Border Collie is much like training any breed of dog (for example, use of punishment or positive reinforcement), and it all depends on what exactly you are trying to teach your Collie. They are not much different from any other dog in terms of how to train them, though.
Feeding a Border Collie
What should you feed your border collie?
Border collies are a high-energy breed that require a well-balanced diet to maintain their health and energy levels. Here are some general guidelines for feeding your border collie:
Choose a high-quality dog food: Look for dog food that is specifically formulated for active breeds, and make sure the first ingredient is a high-quality protein source, such as chicken or lamb.
Determine portion sizes: The amount of food your border collie needs will depend on their age, weight, and activity level. It's important not to overfeed your dog, as this can lead to obesity and other health problems.
Consider supplements: If your dog has special dietary needs or health issues, you may want to consider adding supplements to their diet, such as omega-3 fatty acids, glucosamine, or probiotics.
Offer healthy treats: Treats can be a great way to reward your border collie for good behavior, but make sure you choose healthy options, such as carrots, green beans, or apple slices, instead of high-calorie, processed treats.
Provide fresh water: Make sure your border collie always has access to fresh, clean water. This is especially important if they are very active and may need more water to stay hydrated.
It's always a good idea to talk to your veterinarian about your border collie's specific nutritional needs, as they may have additional recommendations based on your dog's age, weight, and overall health.

Just feed your dog pedigree food and treat him/her to healthy dog treats to keep him/her fit, active and healthy.
BC's are very quirky dogs. Some chase beams of light, chase cars, attack light switches, or lick paper. You just never know what you're gonna get! lol
it depends on what you are training it to do
