Plecostomus can be kept with most any "Community Fish". They should have 10-25% water changes every 1-2 weeks depending how big the tank is, how many fish are in it, what kind of fish are it it, and how dirty the water gets(obviously). They prefer to be in water 72'-82' Fahrenheit. They feed on algae and algae wafers which can be purchased at most local fish stores.

There are many species available in the aquarium trade, ranging from freshwater, to brackish and marine. Before buying any puffer expensive research should be done to provide the individual with the best possible care. ThePufferForum.com is a great place to start, the PufferPedia has an extensive list of commonly available puffers.

Almost all pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting and often lethal to fish. To humans, tetrodotoxin is deadly, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote.

Puffer fish can be difficult to take care of. It depends on your set up and experience. Puffer fish do not have scales. They have an outer mucus layer, therefore they are sensitive to many things. If you have a well established tank (about 1-2 years) with compatible fish and water parameters with years of experience then it can be really easy. If not then it is difficult.
