How to take apart Coast to Coast Marlin 22 cal long rifle Model 00550
Take windex, wipe it down. Then take a regular paper towel and wipe it down again. That's how I clean mine at least.
Best to ask a gunsmith for help
I to have this gun and yes it is the same to take apart. I guess the gun was made only one year and that was in 1979.
You don't - you'd need to take it to a gunsmith for this.
your marlin .22 model 60 was made in 1981 because if you take your first two numbers off your serial number you get 19 subtract 19 from 2000 you get 1981 :)
I Think it is a model 28 Go to www.marlinowners.com/forums/ and post a pic. Or www.gunandgame.com/forums/ Or www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/ We'll be better able to tell you by the differences in stock/slide/etc :)
Take 2000 the first 2 digits of the SN. 1986.
In my opinion Very. I have a marlin 60 and recently shot my inherited 522 for the first time. I have now stuck a scope on my marlin and the 522 will become my goto .22 rifle. The 522 has better sights and is heavier which doesn't make it any more mechanically accurate, but it sure as heck helps the shooter feel more accurate. It is also easier in my opinion to take down and clean than the marlin which equates to shooters that are more inclined to keep it clean, thus making it more reliable.

Take it to a gunsmith for proper identification. Marlin made a Ranger model 103 over and under. Sears Ranger 103 O/U was the Marlin Model 90 O/U. Sears sold them under the Ranger name prior to WWII and as the JC Higgins after WWII.
anywhere from $500.00 to several thousand depending on the shape the weapon is in.
