just pull up on the bottom front of the rear seat, you'll here the clip disengage. Then pull the seat up & outward.
unscrew the bolts and take the seat out
there is none you have to take out the back seat
You get tools and you take it out or if you dont know how to take them out go to an engineer
Behind the back seat. A person has to take the bottom seat part out and the back prtcome off. it is moued to the body of the car. Very simple to replace
The bench seat is bolted in. After you take the bolts out you will still have the rolling brackets sticking out but still leaves plenty of room to haul something.
You need to take the back cowling off to get to the "trunk" then take off the seat. under the seat should be the battery, just take off the two screws that hold each terminal on.
Unplug the wires, unbolt the seat from the floor panel, take the seat out.
Unless you want to replace the seat on your Outback, I can't imagine a situation where it would be better to take it out than to simply fold it down. there should be a little knob on the back of the seat next to each seatbelt, the pulley that fastens it to the wall of the car. Pull that up and it will fold the back of the seat down. As far as actually removing the seat, for whatever reason, that you will find difficult to do.
Take the back seat out and climb thru and turn the rod going thru the latch.

pull the seat base out and then you will see 2 bolts that hold the seat back down to the floor, take the bolts out and the back will come out.
there should be two bolts behind the passenger seat, take those out. pull the strap on the passenger seat forward and pull the seat back. after you take the passenger seat off you can see the bolts for the front seat, take them off and back the seat out of the lip.
