It would depend on how your dog reacts to training but the alpha, which should be you, usually has say on what areas subordinate dogs are allowed to enter or not. Though since dogs usually respect what you want when they see you're watching them and that can change as soon as you aren't keeping a watchful eye.
If you punish the dog for entering a space you don't want them to, it most likely won't help because the dog can associate the punishment with you, and so will continue to do as they wish as long as you're not there to punish. Best bet would be to rig the room or space somehow so that they think that the area itself is punishing them when they enter, and so will associate negative reinforcement with the out of bounds room or area itself.
