Well there is hardly any physical difference in them. If you want to breed your angelfish I suggest you buy eight of them. There ought to be a pair in those eight. I suggest buying some new born ones because they aren't costly and grow up to maturity in two to three weeks but if you are too eager to get them breed buy some proven breeders at the fish store but they are quite expensive than the regular ones and their breeding period might be at an end!

A goldfish.... the difference is hard to spot (especially with modern varieties) you can with a trained eye spot the differences the in ventral fins between male and female, even then it isn't really easy to do without watching the fish spawn (which one lays the eggs)

Fertilisation takes place externally. The female produces frog spawn and the male fertilises the frog spawn outside the female's body.

1 single angelfish that has laid eggs but no male to fertilize the eggs Why would she lay the eggs?

This is a common occurence. Angelfish do this a lot. She is just getting rid of an encumbrance. Two females will also get together and spawn much to the joy of their owner who then thinks he/she has a pair.

Can female angelfish live in the same tank?

Angelfish are a schooling/shoaling species and should be kept in groups of no less than 5 if you with to avoid fighting and bullying problems in the growing young fish. 2 males will be OK until they reach breeding size and condition and then there could be fights as they try to mate up with females. I very much doubt if you can sex your angelfish anyway. It is extremely difficult. Particularly when two females will commonly get together and spawn.

Do koi angelfish breed throughout their entire life?

Angelfish are Pterophyllum sp. The "Koi" bit is just a bit of 'spin'. All it means is the fish has a couple of colours. It is still an ordinary Angelfish in all but the 'spin'. Provided they are well grown and properly looked after, they will start spawning regularly from the age of about 12 months. If the ova are removed, the fish will spawn again in a couple of days and again for about 3 or 4 spawnings and then recouperate for a about a month before coming back into breeding condition and starting to spawn again. Angelfish and Discus can be and are sometimes bred to death and only last a year or so in the hands of unscrupulous breeders.

What are frog's eggs called?

Frog spawn. They grow into tadpoles and then, in time, into frogs. I believe a female frog lays frogspawn, masses of thousands of small eggs.Spawn.
