The only way to be 100% sure that your animal has been altered is to take it to the vet for an x-ray. If you are buying it and are unsure, never trust the pet store to tell you as they are unlikely to even be able to accurately tell you the gender of the animal in many cases.

It depends on the sex. Obviously, a male will be much easier than a female. It is much less invasive. I don't have any information more than that, but I will say that it is abundantly important that you find a rabbit vet. Lots of vets will say yes they work with rabbits, but they don't have the experience level that is required. They react much differently to anesthesia, they should not be fasted as a cat or dog would be before surgery and a few other requirements. When I had my bunny spayed she fasted before because I didn't know any better, luckily she was okay, but after I read that was really bad and if they tell you to fast before that is no a good vet. Also, they did not tell me that if you have bonded bunnies you should take them to the vet together even if only one is getting a procedure, otherwise you might break the bond and trust me you DO NOT want to re-bond buns. Please visit houserabbits.org to get a recommendation on bunny vets and while you are at it, you should read all their info on proper care and feeding. There is a lot to know and it is pretty important. They are delicate creatures and they are different from all other house pets in the way they digest things. Also, be very carefully if you litter train, make sure you use Yesterdays News brands, all other types can be toxic to buns if ingested. They do not have the capability for throwing up. Having said all of that :) Congratulations I have two bunnies and I am absolutely obsessed with them. They are the most interesting, loving, fun pet you could ever have. They are a little labor intensive, but well worth it. Just to let you know too, bunnies that are spayed are much better behaved and live longer, so good choice! Read up and have fun!!!

Determining whether a rabbit has been spayed or neutered can be particularly difficult to do. In breeds with longer fur, any scar may not be clearly visible, especially if the vet was particularly skilled and careful in sewing up the incision. If you arranged for the animal to be neutered, one can reasonably assume the vet has done their job correctly.

But if at all in doubt, take your rabbit to a vet to be checked. There are blood tests and scans that can be performed to determine if an animal has been fixed or not. Until then, best bet is to keep your males and females separated unless you are intentionally trying to breed them. Rabbits are quite prolific and if no babies have resulted within a few short months, most likely at least one if not both of your pair are sterile.

There's not really a way to tell. Your vet could cut her open and look for a uterus, but she shouldn't have unnecessary surgery. If you got her from a shelter she is definately fixed, unless it was a really weird shelter. If you got her from a breeder or a petshop, she is probably not fixed.

You look under the rabbit towards his bottom, you will see his penis, look where it goes away.

How do I prevent rabbit cancers without neutering my rabbits?

Hmm, I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to get your rabbit spayed or neutered. There are places that can do it at a lower cost. As you may already know, it's better for their health. 80% of non-spayed female rabbits get uterine cancer by 4 years of age.

How d you know when your cat is in love with another cat?

That depends on if you're cat is neutered or spayed...or not. If they are not...you will find kittens. If they are...they will get along very well. Usually, cats that are neutered or spayed will not fall in love...only make close bonds.

What domestic cat breed is the best hunter?

I don't know about breeds, but I have been told by a vet that queens are better hunters than toms. And he told me that a cat that has been spayed / neutered will never be as good a hunter as one that has not been fixed.

Do dwarf bunnies spray?

Dwarf rabbits behave in the same ways as all pet rabbits. If you want to know about dwarf rabbits, just research pet rabbits: you'll get all the correct information.Rabbits that aren't neutered/spayed (especially males) do spray urine as a behavioral and aggressive behaviour. This is one among many reasons why it's widely recommended to spay/neuter your rabbit! Please see the related questions below for more details and helpful links.

How do you know when you have to get your rabbit neutered?

When your rabbit is at least 6 months old, you can neuter him so he will not mate. If you don't know the age of your rabbit, you can tell if he runs around your legs in circles making grunting noises. Also, he might nip your feet to get your attention.(My rabbit does this to me.... Yuck...>:D )

How old does a female have to be to be spayed?

Today we know that kittens and pups can be spayed or neutered at the age of two months (or two pounds). The American Veterinary Medical Association has endorsed this practice called Early Age Neutering; the animals recover more quickly from surgery when they are young. Today some vets will spay/neuter at eight weeks of age, while other adhere to the old practice of six months of age. The average age at which pets are spayed or neutered is four to six months.

I am getting my first ever rabbit soon i was going to call it floppypops then i wanted to call it sum thing else i want it to be cute i dont no what sex the rabbit is as its still young any ideas?

Think of a cute name for a girl rabbit and then one for a guy rabbit. If its a girl name it the girl name , if its a guy name it the guy name. Simple Name for Bunnies- Mr. Fluffy ?? IDK I like the name you picked out. I have a rabbit and they are really fun but can be a hand full at times. Make sure you can love it and be around it a lot. You probably need to get your bunny spayed or neutered because it helps them live longer and they are healthier. Bunnies go through a teenager stage just like people do, they are not as wild if you get them spayed or neutered . Teenage stage starts early for a bunny but can start happening when there about 6-months of age. Be sure to get a cage 4 times the size of your rabbit, so they can hop. They love fruits and veggies! I found this website about rabbits that informs you about everything you need to know about rabbits. Have fun with your new rabbit! They are so cute!

You can't neuter a female anything. Females are 'spayed'. Males are neutured. from 1Shadow1 yes a female meerkat can be neutered their reproduction systems are similar to that of a normal house cat.
