Meat that has "gone bad" will usually smell odd -- but not always! The rule is, if the meat has been left out of the refrigerator long enough to become warm to the touch, you should not cook and eat it. Meat should still be cool if it is "good."
Normally colour and smell are the first indicators. The colour will show a greenish sheen and the smell is certainly something that will be clear.

Not that I know of. One of ours loves the liver - raw. Two of them like some cooked tidbits. And they get it all the time as ingredients in their canned and dry food.
You can tell if thawed out chicken has gone bad if it has a bad odor. Chicken that is bad a very distinct and spoiled smell to it.

Both. Chemical change is the grems and bacteria on the raw turkey dissolving. The physical change obviously when the turkey is cooked and no longer raw.
When black spots have formed on raw turkey, it is not ok to eat and needs to be discarded. The turkey has been in the freezer for too long to be edible.
A raw turkey should be cooked within a couple days of thawing or purchase (if not frozen).
