The male (Boy) parakeets have a BLUE nose/cere (right above the beak) and females have a PINK or BROWN nose/cere, and babies are white, purple or in between so you will not be a ble to tell until they are older. you can Google it just tipe in "Pictures of male parakeet" and when that comes up google "female parakeet pictures" and you should see what they look like

∙ 14y agoIf the parakeet has a brown cere*, it is a female. If the parakeet has a blue cere*, it is a male. *cere-the part above the beak
You look at the cere, or the thing above the parrakeet's beak. If it is brown, the parrakeet is female. If it is blue, the parakeet is male. Very simple.

∙ 15y agoVery young birds are harder to tell what sex they are. When the bird gets a little older, the color of the area where the nostrils are at will be different colors...usually a tan or pink indicates the bird is female, a blue or slightly green indicates the bird is male.

∙ 13y agoOnce they reach maturity at about 6 months of age, you can look at the cere. The cere is the fleshy tissue around the nostrils on top of the beak. Boys (cocks) will be blue, females (hens) will be tan.
