15 men
around $150-$200 1943 was the year of largest production of this rifle at Long Branch Arsenal, with in excess of 325,000 made. In 5 years of production , Long Branch made over 925,000 No. 4 Mk1* rifles, and about 15,000 of these were No. 4 Mk1's. In good condition, without the large "billboard" import mark, between $200-$300. In the UK £300 is a fair price! Long Branch Arsenal was located just west of the city of Toronto, in Canada. They also made Bren, Sten, and Browning GPMG machine guns, as well as the Browning Hi Power 9mm semi auto pistol. The frist Browning 9 mm I was issued in the Canadian Forces, in 1970, was a Long Branch model, made for the Chinese Nationalist Army, in 1943, but never shipped to China. It had Chinese markings, as well as English markings. Jim b. Toronto.
depending on overall condition between $150 and $250
Depemnds on condition, original configuration. A poor specimen may be $50, I just paid $300 for an excellent Long Branch rifle last month. (and was quite happy- included original sling and bayonet) PS- it is No.4, MkI.
I just purchased one for $400.00 at a pawn shop. <><><> Depending on the condition, above may be a very good price. A note of caution- there are many of the No4 rifles that have been converted to modern fake No5 Jungle carbines on the market today. If you are not CERTAIN about identifying a REAL Jungle Carbine, be sure you are dealing with a reputable dealer.
number5 mark 1 enfield 303 british jungle carbine
7.7x56R, more commonly sold as the .303 British.
Do a search for: British No.1 MkIII, No.4 Mk1, No. 5 Jungle carbine or British Enfield these are the three major models of the .303 British rifles.
mk1 rack has imperial threads(UNF) MK2 racks are metric
Love my Long Branch. Depending on condition and originality, $200-$375.
Long Branch (Canada) only made the No 4 as far as I know and started production in 1941
Depending on condition and originality, anywhere from $200-$500 for a VERY good specimen. Some makers are more scarce than others.
If i am correct the mark II's replaced the mark I's in the year 2000
mine is an 82xxx number and its a mk1. The best way to tell is the release for the lever. MK1 has 2 lugs you push towards the muzzle. The mk2 just has a button you press. Hope this helps
There are many fireamrs that have Mk1 in their designation. Are you talking about a handgun or a long gun?
By configuration and markings You can get an approximate year range by observing the Model and Type of Enfield. The No.1 Mk III was made from around 1907 to 1944, while the No. 4 Mk1 was made from 1939 to 1956. Further narrowing can be done by observing which of the manufacturers made the rifle. There are numerous collector books and magazines relating to this subject.
1980-1993: Cabriolet, Mk1 1995-1999: Cabrio, Mk3 1999.5-2002: Cabrio, Mk3.5 or Mk4 (depends on which side of the pond you're on) And now are all replaced by the Eos here in the states
