Bald eagles are slightly larger, and feed primarily on fish, although they may scavenge or take waterfowl. They have a white head and tail. The beak is somewhat heavier than that of the golden eagle.

The golden eagle feeds mainly on large rodents like marmots and rabbits, but they will take animals as large as small deer. Golden eagles prefer mountainous regions, while bald eagles are normally found around bodies of water.
