who do you set a timing on a 2001 Mitsubishi montero
where can you find a free diagram for putting a air conditioning belt on a 2001 Montero sport Mitsubishi?
Go under the engine and follow the belt down to the under side of the engine. You will see a metric size 14 bolt just to the left that runs up to the tensioner. Turn clockwise to tighten but don't over tighten.
The power steering unit and the alternator are both driven by the serpentine belt. Loosen the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
Serpentine belt? You may have to remove to tighten alternator
The Montero Sport has a timing belt. This is true for both the 3.0 and 3.5 engens. It is recamended to be changed every 60,000 miles. But be karfull as thay are interference morters...
If it's the same 3.0L engine they put in the 2001 Montero Sport, the alternator is (looking from the front of the engine into the bay) located on the left side of the motor, toward the radiator, down low. It's straight below the power steering pump. There should be a belt that runs from the crankshaft to the alternator. Good luck... I'm on my third in 3 months.
Go to Advance Auto Parts. They can print a belt routing illustration for you.
Put the serpentine belt around the pulleys on your 2001 Chrysler LHS. Tighten the serpentine belt by pushing the tensioner pulley to the left. Tighten down the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will be tight.
On the front of the engine. It keeps the belt tight.
it's self adjustable
