How do I? I get a schematic of the vacuum lines ( either online or in a repair manual, such as Haynes or Chiltons). You need a good work light, some are hard to find. Go along and check each line according to the schematic. To trace a leak from a vacuum line, it is recommended to change all lines. You can get a package of assorted vacuum lines at VIP for cheap, they also sell the T's and splitters. To check a line for a leak, if it is not obvious with the vehicle running. Check one line at a time. Take one line off, but your finger on one end to block it and blow into the other end. Put it back on before checking the next.

If it's like a 92 bird, then the 3 main vacuum lines are located between the Air Filter hose and the throttle body. There is a little Plenum that has the IDLE Air Control motor on one end and a rubber connector coming out of the side of it with 3 rubber hoses in it. any other vacuum hose lines from there are located under the big intake plenum (the big aluminum cover in the middle that has "3.1 Liter V6" written on it.
