If it doesn't have the daylight sensor on the dash, you should be able to turn the DRLs off by applying the emergency brakes.
In my 02 Aztek, I turn the headlight knob (on the dash left of the steering wheel, above your left knee) clockwise to get the interior lights to come on.
To change the headlight bulb on a Pontiac Wave it is good to remember to not touch the new bulb with the fingers. Gently remove the headlight lamp cover (it should pop off after a gentle pull). Turn the old bulb and pull to remove it. Then, using the small plastic gripper (sold where headlights are sold) insert the new bulb and turn 1/4 turn. Replace the headlight lamp cover.
You can remove the headlight by removing the retaining screws. Remove the headlight wiring. The headlight should easily come out.
push the emergency brake pedal down ONE CLICK
Is your headlight switch and blinker switch the same? If so, this is called the combination switch. Sounds like it is bad and needs to be replaced. Not uncommon for these to break.
To replace a turn signal switch on a 2003 Pontiac Aztek, also known as a flash relay, the steering column must be removed. The flash relay is located under the turn signal. Remove the mounting hardware and the unit can be taken off.
On my 2003 - you pull the headlight switch. Took me quite a while to figure out.
Walmart sells the replacement headlight bulb for less than $8.00 (just thought it wise to mention). You open the hood, and at the back of the headlight compartment, you should be able to see the protruding headlight wires. Just turn anti-clockwise and this should then pull off the entire headlight bulb for replacement. Clockwise turn to secure it back to the headlight compartment.
In a 2003 Ion Sedan, you...: * Pop the hood * Above each headlight are 2 L shaped pins. Turn, and then pull them directly up to remove them. * Pull the headlight housing straight out. * Turn the bulb housing for the blinker to unlock it and remove the bulb.
Counter clock wise to loosen.
Turn the headlight switch clockwise, then pull out the switch. An owner's manual is a good thing to read.
Check the left turn signal bulb. It is probably burnt out.
