If your vehicle is All wheel drive you don't unless you drop the front drive shaft, but don't my 1999 is AWD it has saved me numerous times.

I am pretty sure that it is non existent, i have a 99 mountaineer and it is AWD and i am going to assume that yours has either FWD or AWD which means it has a transmission and a transfer case not a transaxle

Put a fuse in the circuit labeled "FWD" under the hood on the passenger side.

5x4.5" ...same as the Mustang, Ranger, older (pre '84) Dodge trucks, Jeeps, and many FWD vehicles.

User Avatar

That would be the 4L60E transmission.

It is not the engine that determine if it is FWD or RWD it is the transmission and how it is designed. You could take an engine out of a FWD vehicle and install it in a RWD vehicle if you had the skill and money to do so.

Either on a flatbed or front wheels up

User Avatar

no. no it cannot. thank you. fwd and rwd transmissions are completely incompatible.

User Avatar

on a 1998 it is located under compressor r/f fwd wheel well

User Avatar

rear wheel drive....Ford never made a fwd t-bird.

CV joint is a Constant Velocity Joint in all FWD cars and most 4WD cars. A cv joint makes your FWD car drive and turn without losing velocity.

Front Wheel Drive. ( FWD ).

User Avatar

Well, that would depend on the transmission. Sounds like you got yerself a 2wd mf-er.

User Avatar

most cadillacs from 1985 and up are fwd. except the broughams

User Avatar

front wheel drive (FWD)

User Avatar

stupid question. they are all RWD or AWD or both. not just FWD

User Avatar

to put a 99 fwd in low you must put the truck in neutral then ingage the transfer fo fwd low if the transmission is not in neutral in most vehicles it will not allow fwd low to be used

User Avatar

passenger side of firewall, near strut mount under the platic clip that reads FWD.

User Avatar

Underneath the hood, near the firewall, there is a FWD fuse which will put the car in FWD for towing, tuning, etc. The car should not be driven in FWD mode unless it is necessary. Refer to your Owners Manual for more information.
