Press and hold SHIFT key on your keyboard and then press the number 2 key on your keyboard
(Note:- Do not press the number key from your numpad on the right of your keyboard. Press the number key which is above all the alphabets. To type more special characters you can press and hold shift key and then press corresponding keys like *, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, () _ + |. These special characters are from left to right direction below the function keys (F1-F12) and they are combined with the numbers too.
You should be able to do this two ways. The first is not actually typing, but generally easier. Click "start" and in the seach box (if you have one) type in "charmap" and press Enter. (If you don't have a search box, open the "Run..." box and use that). Now browse through to find what you want and double-click on it. Now select where you want it so go, and press Ctrl+V or right-click and select "Paste." The second way is to enter it using the character's ASCII number. You will need to look up the ASCII unless you know it using something like this: http://ascii-code.com. Once you have the number you should be able to press and hold Alt while you quickly type in the decimal reference number. For example, to get "¿" you would press down and hold Alt while you key in "168". However, this seems to not work as well with newer computers. Alt is sometimes used for accessibility purposes now, so when you press Alt then the first number, it acts as if you just clicked a button. If you can't get it to work, just use charmap.
Assuming you mean the @ symbol - it's obtained by pressing the SHIFT key and the apostrophe key together. The apostrophe key is two to the right of the letter 'L'.
