Once you get the 7 choas emeralds this level will be unlocked to get the choas emeralds get the hidden key and keep it without getting hit then get the choas emerald on the final level before it exits the end of the stage

∙ 9y agoYou can't really play as metal sonic in the game,but in the 2-player mode,hold down triangle+x for the ps2 when you select a stage,and the whole team will have metal skin.
In each stage, there is a golden key. Finding a golden key and having it at the end of the level at the end of each stage will send you to the special stage. Defeating each special stage will give you a Chaos Emerald. Once you have all 7 Chaos Emeralds and have finished all four teams, you can go and fight Metal Sonic!

∙ 15y agoYou can't play as him. To fight him, get all chaos emeralds with at least 1 team, and you will have unlocked the stage next to 1 player, above challenge. You will fight metal madness with teams rose, chaotix, and dark. You will then fight metal overlord with team sonic.

∙ 14y ago1. It is not a team. It is a boss. 2. You get it when you collect all 7 chaos emeralds and have completed the game with all teams. enjoy =) want to know something then that will probably make you jealous well i only had to beat all teams and i only had 4 chaos emeralds

∙ 13y agoCollect all the Chaos Emeralds, finish all 4 teams' stories and that will unlock the Last Story. In the Last Story you will fight Metal Overlord as Super Sonic.
