With a prepaid phone and plan structure, you pay the mobile service provider upfront before gaining access to its mobile phone network, rather than getting monthly bills. With many prepaid services, once you activate a card, you must use up your allotted minutes in a designated time frame, which can vary from 1 month to 90 days, depending on the provider. If you have any minutes left over once the time window has elapsed, you run the risk of losing those minutes. That's why it's important to know roughly how much you are going to use your phone.

∙ 12y agoA pre-paid card works the same as a credit card. except you find one with fees (some do not have any fees at all) You then load the card with what ever amount you have (CAUTION IF CARD HAS MONTHLY FEE IT WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY SO READ CAREFULLY) say for example $300 and you pay a bill for $150 you only now have $150 dollars in your card and when that money runs out that's it that's all she wrote you are broke....(CAUTION SOME CARDS MAKE YOU HAVE A MINIMUM BALANCE AT ALL TIMES) These cards CANNOT help with fixing bad credit and for most no credit chekes are done...so therefore they cannot help.Any othere information can usally be found on website if you look up card.

It may be beneficial to check into prepaid cellular plans. They're great alternatives to regular cell phone plans, and they don't require a credit check or a signature!
Traditional cell phone plans require that you commit to an agreement (that usually lasts for 2 years) and that you get billed for the services used each month. Prepaid cellular plans are quite the opposite; you purchase the minutes before they are used, and you only use what you purchase. For example, if you purchase 100 minutes of talk time for your account, you can use up to 100 minutes of talk time. After you've used what you've purchased (and if you haven't added any more talk time to your account), you simply won't be able to make any more calls.
Signing up for a prepaid cell phone is easy enough as well. You first need to find a prepaid cell phone package, and they're usually sold in various electronics, discount or retails outlet stores. Once you've purchased the package, all you need to do is follow the included instructions for setting your phone up. These types of packages usually come with introductory minutes to get you started as well.
After you've used your cell phone for awhile, you'll find that prepaid cellular plans are really quite similar to contract plans, except you "pay the bill" beforehand.
