Concord is the same as agreement. The main rule of agreement is single subjects go with single verbs and plural subjects go with plural verbs.
Verbs have singular and plural form only in present tense:
singular subjects use verb + s = He/she/it likesice cream. The dog likes ice cream.
plural subject use base verb = We/you/they likeice cream. The dogs like ice cream.

One pie has been eaten. Two pies have been eaten.
This book looks interesting. These books lookinteresting.
The car needs cleaning . The cars needcleaning.
When the subject is two or more items joined by 'and' the subject is plural:
My brother and I both have jobs.
But two singular noun subjects joined by either/or have a singular verb:
Maybe Rugby or tennis is on TV tonight.
Compare with: Maybe rugby and tennis are on TV to night
In past tense there is no agreement problem:
The girl looked beautiful. The girls lookedbeautiful.
