A well-type manometer is to be used to measure differential pressure in a water flow system. The manometer uses a special bromide liquid of specific gravity of 2.95.The well and tube are of 75 mm and 5 mm diameter respectively. The scale placed along the tube has no correction factor for the area ratio of the manometer. Calculate the value of this factor which must be multiplied by the manometer reading in mm to find the pressure differential in kg/cm2.

Assuming the fluid is of uniform temperature and composition - or at least close enough as to make no significant difference - if a tube containing a liquid is open at both ends, the level of the liquid will be the same at both ends. If it wasn't then the combination of atmospheric pressure and hydrostatic pressure would cause it to equalize. The distance between the ends does not matter unless you start talking on the order of kilometers. Because of this, measurements taken against the level of fluid in the tube will always be against the same "zero" point and deviations from that height represents deviations from "level" relative to that zero point.

What does a double tube manometer measure?

A double tube manometer measure pressure. Manometers use liquid in a column and balance it against the pressure that they are measuring.

Is manometer used to measure the pressure of liquid?

yes, manometer is an instrument . It is used to measure pressure of liquid.

Why U-tube is inverted in inverted differential manometer?

when the fluid is flowing on the pipe which is lying on the ground then we cannot install ordinary manometer to measure the pressure, that's why we use inverted u tube manometer in such case.

What are the instruments use to measure?

Examples: thermometer, pluviometer, wind vane, anemometer, solarimeter, manometer etc.

What is the Procedure of well type manometer?

A manometer is used to measure pressure. A well-type manometer measures a singular height of pressure and is normally highly accurate.

What is micro manometer?

A manometer is a pressure gauge. A micro manometer is either a really small pressure gauge, or a pressure gauge used to measure really small pressure difference.

What happen when mercury used in inverted manometer?

When mercury is used a manometer fluid and the manometer tube is inverted it will measure the small pressure difference in liquids. This is a tool used by scientists.

Inclined-tube manometer why are they used to measure low pressure?

the fluid level in manometer will rise through an inclined line rather than vertical line. So when ever there is slight variation in pressure the manometer (inclined) will be able read it. The pressure drop is given by P=h*density*g*sin(angle).

What is micro manometer pressure?

A manometer is a pressure gauge. A micro manometer is either a really small pressure gauge, or a pressure gauge used to measure really small pressure difference.
