How do you win district spelling bees?

To participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, you must make sure that your school is enrolled in the organization, by asking your teacher. The steps are:

There is usually a class spelling bee, then school spelling bee. Contestants must be between fourth and eighth grade, and below the age of 16 years. After the school bee is usually the school district bee, then county, then regional. After the regional spelling bee, if you qualify, is the Scripps National Spelling Bee. You should study to be in the bee, like recommended above.

In order to win a spelling bee, you must do the following:

• memorize the correct spelling of a LOT of words
• be able to spell those words out loud in a big, loud voice so everyone can hear you - you can practice this part with friends and family
• be able to spell those words under pressure, with a time limit and a whole lot of people watching you!

Good luck with the spelling bee, and remember - even if you didn't win, you did your best, so be proud that you were brave enough to try!
study for all words. look at each word and spell it a few times. you could probably win the spelling bee for this. Good Luck!!
Concentrate; don't rush, try to visualize the word in you head and use the questions at your disposal, such as the root word and the word's meaning
Ask your teacher for a list of words and study the words you don't know and practice, practice, practice!
