How do you winterize bougainvillea?
Either bring it into the house and place it in a sunny window,
or buy/build a small greenhouse. Even a greenhouse may need a
heater depending on your climate.
They are a tropical plant and thrive in southern California, or Hawaii outside all year, but if winter gets below about 50F they will be unhappy, and close to freezing they will die.
