To invite a church to fellowship in the form of a letter is the same as writing one's basic letter. Simply begin with a greeting, write one or two paragraphs inviting the church and explaining why the church is being invited, and then ending the letter with a closure.
Dear Pastor Smith I would like to request ________________event for (put date and time) (also explain what the event is about.) EXAMPLE: Dear Pastor Smith I would like to request that our Christmas Concert for the children on December 15, 2008 at 6 PM and ending at 8 PM be held in the church. We are anticipating approximately 60 people to attend the concert. I am looking forward to hearing from you at your convenience and if this date and time does not fit into your schedule I would appreciate any time slot you could give me. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Mrs. Jane Doe
Depending on what denomination you're writing to. For example the Christian Church Family begins ost of their greetings with: "Greetings to You in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" and of course the body of the letter, and it usually ends with, "Yours in Christ"

This is how you should really write it: Dear (Head of Church Choir?), I think I've been called by God to join in your church choir to help sing for the Lord. Please let me join and I will do my best to sing as well as I can. Thank You. Sincerely, (Whoever asked this question)
When you write an invitation, especially for another church, you should make it informative yet friendly. Make it just as if you were to invite a complete and total stranger. Church Name,Motto maybe, The pastor's name, times of services, contact number(s), and a friendly greeting.

I don't know how this is done among other denominations, but in the Southern Baptist Church, to which I have belonged for 56 years, when one moves to a new church and joins "by letter" his old "home church" sends the "letter" to his new church.
