Loosen lock nut, turn tension bolt.
No, you do not have to loosen the girth before mounting a horse.
Uh...no you would want to tighten it so it doesn't slip while getting on...
Every Hyundai i have seen does not have adjusting screws as such, rather slides where they mount to the body. simpley loosen and adjust then tighten
"First Remove the Tension bolt from the alternator and remove." "Next take a hammer and gently tap the alternator down" "Do the same with the Tension Mount" "After realigning the alternator and the Tension mount replace the bolt" "BE CAREFUL NOT TOO TIGHT ON THE BELT OR YOU WILL RUIN THE BEARINGS" "GOOD LUCK"
Use a jack with a board on top to support the engine. Loosen the bolts for the motor mount. Raise the engine slightly then take the bolts out and remove the motor mount. Install the new mount, tighten the bolts, then remove the jack.
On most cars, the upper alternator-mount usually has an elongated hole or slot with a bolt that goes thru it and the alternator-housing. To loosen/tighten the alternator-belt, just loosen this bolt a little and the top of the alternator can then be swiveled to alter tension on the belt ...when the belt is tight enough (you can only move it 1/4" when pushing at a point that's equal distance between 2 of the pulleys, hold it in that position and tighten the bolt. Sometimes if alternator is difficult to move, it can be pried (and held in position) with wood-handle of a hammer (or other non-metallic item) placed between alternator and the mount.
On a 4 cyl. you loosen the bolt that holds the adjuster to the alternator and then loosen the adjusting screw. You may need to hold pressure on the alternator to help it move or also loosen the bottom mount bolt of the alternator to the engine to allow the alternator to move easily. On a v6 you loosen the center nut on the adjuster pulley and then loosen the adjuster screw. Remove the old belt and install the new one. adjust the pulley to tighten the belt and tighten the pulley or tensioner. Belt is now installed.
Comprssor bolt will be in your way so you have to take that off. I take both mounting screws off and the belt comes off. You have to get the ac belt off there , so to do that you just cut the belt with a knife. Then there is no way of loosening the compressor, so what you have to do is loosen the pully wheel. It will be located under the power steering pump. Then all you have to do is slide that pully wheel down the slotted adjuster mount. Then you have to jack the motor up and loosen the engine damper mount and slide a new belt arount the mount. (If you want to take the belt off with out cutting it you will see what I am talking about). It has to be around the mount, and the mount is inside the loop of belt. Thread up the adjustable pully, compressor and drive wheel on the belt. and then Tighten the belt. When the tension is on the belt tighten the nut on the pully. check for the proper deflection.
have a jack and piece of wood handy. 1. roll the jack under the oil pan with the wood on top and raise til it touches the oil pan so when you loosen the bolts and/or nuts the engine wont drop 2. loosen the bolts for the mount 3. remove the mount 4. raise the engine up a little til its about even where it was with the mount in 5. replace the mount and tighten up 6. lower jack and check the nuts and/or bolts to ensure they are torqued to specs
On the four cylinder engine, all accessories are run with two belts, one for the power steering pump, the other drives the alternator and a/c compressor, etc. Loosen the bolts holding the power steering pump first. Please note the bolts that mount it are on the driver side of the engine, while the bolts that tension it, face the front of the car. Loosen (no need to remove) the tension bolt, remove the power steering belt. Loosen the bolts on the alternator, loosen the tension bolt on the alternator, push the alternator toward the engine and the belt is now free.
First loosen the 2 bolts that hold the mount on. Then remove the mount. Attach one end of a ratchet to the supercharger nose(it will hold and not hurt the nose) or any other bracket in the back, then attach the other end of ratchet to the front end of car. Attach the new engine mount onto the engine and then tighten the ratchet strap to bring the engine forward until the new motor mount lines up with the bolt holes. Put the bolt in and tighten. Release the ratchet strap and you are done.
To tighten the belt you normally have to rotate the belt tensioner bearing mount which is below the front cam pulley however the tension has to be set by an electronic tension checker by your local dealer unless you can afford the special tool and know exactly how to use it. for maximum longevity of the belt this must be correct or severe engine damage can result which would certainly write o ff the car.
