How does CO2 cause harm directly to humans?
Carbon dioxide in high concentrations can impact people by:
- blood pH changes
- interfering with breathing rates
CO2 is a normal byproduct of human life. Our bodies use oxygen to create energy during aerobic activity (with oxygen) and then our bodies produce CO2 due to this activity. The blood takes the CO2 from our cells to the lungs, and then while the blood is picking up more oxygen, it dumps the CO2 so we can exhale it. Since we exhale CO2 with every breath the gas itself does not cause harm to…
Because greenhouse gas has carbon dioxide in the air which is bad for your body. Actually, CO2 itself in the small amounts humans have been emitting (40 billion tons per year) isn't enough to directly cause adverse health effects. The problem is that this gas is primarily responsible for global warming, for which the long term consequences are expected to be largely negative, overall.
Basicly there are 2 types of processes that cause co2 emissions: natural and human made. Natural processes include decay of vegetation, animals and even humans! Arobic respiration by living beings also produces co2 emissions. Human made processes include combustion of fuels to produce energy. Combustion is done in vehicles, furnaces, industries, power plants, etcetra.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is used in the food industry, not Carbon Monoxide (CO). CO2 can be used to create the fizzy bubbles in your soda or the vegetables you eat. The thing is, most of our food contains CO2 in it. Whether consumed directly, such as plants, or indirectly, such as humans eating plants, we all eat Carbon Dioxide. Carbon Monoxide, however, is not used in foods at all.
CO2 = Carbon Dioxide. This is the gas that plants breath is part of make-up of the atmosphere. This is why it is important to replace the trees when they are cut down. Also humans exhale this gas. Plants give off oxygen. CO2 is also a long-lived greenhouse gas produced when fossil fuels such as oil and coal are burned. The build up of CO2 in Earth's atmosphere would cause an increase in the Earth's…
Humans are harming the environment through global warming. Global warming is the recent rapid warming of the earth, caused by the human activities of deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity. This burning releases carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas, which is building up in the atmosphere.
though not directly but what we exhale is carbon dioxide and plants need it for making their food plants take in co2 and with the help of chlorophyll and sunlight they make their food in forms of proteins etc etc. so its important but its also important that we keep balance on the co2 levels in atmosphere otherwise it will just bring doom to earth.
