Edoras is the capital city of Rohan. It it located on a hill in a valley of the White Mountains, and was home to Meduseld, the Golden Hall of the King of Rohan. Edoras is Rohan's only real city. It is here in Meduseld that Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, and Gandalf meet with King Théoden in the account of the early stages of the War of the Ring.
Edoras is capital of Rohan where king Theoden lives. In the movie, there were a few important events that occurred there: when Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas came and Gandalf saved Theoden from Saruman's spell, or when the Palantir attacked Pippin.

Shadowfax is the magnificent white horse Gandalf is given by the Rohan in JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings is a novel that is six books published in three volumes. Shadowfax is mentioned or appears in books 2, 3, 5 and 6. There is also some discussion in the Appendices. Shadowfax is a Meara, the greatest breed of horses descended from Nahar, the white horse of Orome, the Vala. Shadowfax is a silver stallion, and as for the Mearas, no one but the King of Rohan can ride them. However, Gandalf tamed Shadowfax to his hand. The first time Gandalf took him, Theoden was not happy about it, he hadn't imagined that when he told Gandalf that he could borrow a horse that he would have the audacity to take one of the Mearas. After driving off Wormtongue, Theoden made a gift of Shadowfax to The White Rider.
what king? King of Gondor? King of Rohan? King of Mirkwood? Gondor: first Aragorn Elessar, then his son Eldarion. Rohan: first Theoden, but he died on the Pellenor Fields, then Éomer. Mirkwood: Thranduil, Father of Legolas, and he is immortal, so...
When Gandalf calls Denethor a steward, he is referring to the fact that Denethor and his family are merely caretakers of the throne, and have no legal claim to it; that they are waiting for the King (Aragorn) to return, and claim his throne. Essentially, Gandalf is reminding Denethor that he is merely a figurehead and a servant of the King.
