How does a baby root canal work?
Not given to babies.
Sometimes a procedure called a 'pulpotomy' is performed on baby teeth. It is essentially the same as a root canal procedure on an adult tooth. The tooth is numbed with local anesthetic, the tooth is opened with a dental drill, the nerve and the infection is removed, and filling material is used to restore the tooth. It will typically preserve the baby tooth until the tooth is lost in the normal process of growth or 'exfoliation' where baby teeth are lost to make room for the permanent teeth.
A lot, opt for extraction instead of root canal if its on a babies tooth.
Someone who specializes in root canal work is called an endodontist.
no it will pain the baby
Of course!!! They won't work on root canal if they're are not trained for it. Some dentist have assistance from a person that doesn't know much about root canal, but only to help the actual peraon doing the root canal.
what could have happened is that the root canal was not done properly, or the tooth was so damaged that the root canal did not work. In this event, the tooth may have to be pulled (its what happened to me about a week ago)
Does your insurance pay for braces if you have a root canal or can you even get braces with a root canal?
Yes, you can get braces if you have a root canal. And I wouldn't think it would make a difference to an insurance company either. Not sure if your question is about costs. Two major procedures like a root canal and braces would probably exhaust annual maximums of most dental insurances. You would be well advised to get a supplemental plan for major dental work like root canal. addendum: there is usually a lifetime max… Read More
They both have roots? Math: Square Root, Dental: Root Canal.
I believe they're called Endontics.
No. That would just be a waste of time and money. In many cases, you wouldn't even get a root canal on a permanent tooth. You would most likely have it pulled depending on what tooth it is. Just have the baby-tooth pulled since it is going to be pulled someday, regardless.
Yes you can exercise after a root canal. It will have no interfierence.
What does my baby experience if I'm in excruciating pain from a very painful root canal and am 34 weeks pregnant?
your baby does not feel anything. the pain is limited to only you. pain after a root canal is normal for up to a week. If the pain does not start to diminish though after a week you need to call your dentist and maybe get on an antibiotic.
The Panama Canal is in Panama, about 1600 miles from the southernmost border of the United States. A root canal is a dental procedure, not a canal.
root canal surgery is very effective present time
yes they do, because when root-canal is complied the tooth is nonvital.
No 2 year olds that need a root canal have been neglected and abused. You should contact child protective services. Joeseph berkely m.d.
No. By definition, a 'dry socket' is a painful condition that occurs following a tooth extraction, not a root canal. That is not to say that you cannot have pain following a root canal. You can, particularly if the tooth was acutely infected at the time of the root canal, or if the root canal is incomplete. You should consult with the dentist who performed the procedure and follow his/her recommendations.
Im not sure of the question but sounds like the doctor already removed the inerts of the tooth and placed a filling into the root. That is what a root canal therapy is. If you want to remove the root canal filling material and replace it with a more biocompatible material there are dentist that do that.
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment
No, a root canal is not necessarily required when getting a crown.
The medical code for root canal Anterior is D3310.

Root canan usually done by using pain killers. and there will not be any pain by doing that.
There are many reasons your jaw could hurt that do not require a root canal. The only way you can know if you need a root canal is to be examined by a dentist.
The only alternative to performing a root canal procedure is to extract the diseased tooth.
No . . . the root canal procedure is intended to save the tooth.
Have had second root canal on same molar Infection keeps coming back Am on antibiotics They work for awhile and the pain illness returns Should you have it pulled or keep trying to kill the infec?
When you have a root canal generally it is performed during 2 to 3 visits. Do you mean second visit to root canal? If you are being told this is a second root canal on the same tooth, find another dentist and stay on the antibiotics. Minimally get another opinion before making a decision. Get x-rayed, and checked again, you should not have pain or swelling after the root canal. Possible underlying other causes.
It is possible that the root canal is failing. If the root canal was completed very recently, it is possible that there is an accessory canal that was missed during the initial treatment. Remember, a root canal procedure is a last ditch effort to save a tooth that would otherwise be lost. Sometimes root canals fail for no known reason. See your dentist and follow his/her instructions.
D3310 Root canal, anterior (excluding final restoration) D3320 Root canal, bicuspid (excluding final restoration) D3330 Root canal, molar (excluding final restoration) These include the root canal and temporary filling. You may also need: D2950 Core buildup, including any pins You also need to add the permanent crowns.
That is its purpose. With the elimination of damaged or infected root tissue, the baby tooth can continue to function in chewing, and hold the position for the permanent tooth that follows it. However, the baby tooth will still eventually be pushed out, or may be extracted at any time.
A root canal procedure is done as a result of bacteria reaching into the root canal of a tooth. The remenents of the nerve and pulp is taken out and sealed. A crown is then put over the ground down tooth.
I had two root canal. Dr. insisted that I should have MTAD ( antibiotic injection). I said I can take antibiotic after root canal but he said it doesn't work and finally I agreed to pay extra $300,00 for MTAD (Dexatramycin injection). But he still gave me antibiotic (clindamycin). Why? Is it usual? Something was not right. Please answer me.Thank you.
Pain is minimal and may be treated with over the counter pain medications. Most people after having root canal can return to work immediately.
No root canal is not at all dangerous. Dentists recommend it only the time when infection reaches the root of the website and require cleaning.
that is a root canal of a molar tooth. Meaning the dentist is removing the nerve and pulp of the tooth.
There is a possibility that a root canal treatment will not be successful the first time.infection and inflammation recur
Not necessarily. It depends on the extent and depth of the decay or fracture. If the decay has reached the nerve of the tooth, a root canal is indicated. If the decay has not reached the nerve, a root canal is not generally required.
Zipping of a root canal is the result of the tendency of the instrument to straighten inside a curved root canal. This results in over-enlargement of the canal along the outer side of the curvature and under-preparation of the inner aspect of the curvature at the apical end point.
when you get a filling, they drill some of the tooth which has a cavity and fill it. When you get a root canal, they drill all the way down and take out the nerve of the tooth. Getting a root canal is more painful then a filling.

Yes! Root canals like any other restoration are not permanent. You can still get infections in the root canals which will mean you will need that area retreated with another root canal. Usually you are sent to a specialist to get this procedure done.
It is very unlikely that a cleaning would cause a root canal. I would tend to answer a simple No.
After any surgery or mouth work, you should take it easy for a few hours. If you feel fine after that time, you can probably do minimal workouts.
Yes. Nothing in dentistry is either perfect or lasts forever. While the percentage is relatively low (around 5% I think), root canals do fail.
3 (the source is my dentist, he just referred me to get my root canal done on 15th)
No, its not painful. Root canal will be performed only after proper anesthesia is administered. However one might experience tickling sensation.
Is replacing bonded tooth with a crown necessary to prevent root canal?
Pyogenic granuloma and root canal are unrelated, and so are the treatments. One is not prerequisite to the other.
