All living things should maintain homeostasis. Including lions. When it is hot outside, since lions don't sweat, they pant to keep themselves cool. Homeostasis is one of the characteristics of life. Without it, the thing (whatever it may be) is not living.

A tiger needs prey, water, and cover to survive. They also need a lot of territorial space. If any of these are not present, the tiger would not thrive. Tigers have the physical attributes of great strength, speed, long canine teeth, strong jaws, powerful legs and paws with long claws and well developed hunting instincts which allow them to be the top of the food chain. The tiger mothers are very protective of their cubs and nurture and teach them survival skills.
Tigers survive in the wild by killing other animals and eating them. Also, they don't need other tigers to live. (except their mates.) Tigers are rather solitary and defend their territory.

There are many features that allow a tiger to survive in it's environment. First when a tiger is a cub they have white spots on the back of their ears, this is to help camouflage the cubs. A predator may look at the cub and see those two "eyes" staring back and decide not to risk attacking with a head on confrontation. A tiger's stripes also help them survive. The stripes are camouflage as well and a tiger can sit in a shady spot in the jungle or forest (depending on their location) and take a nap or rest while waiting for the opportunity to hunt for it's next meal. Another way a tiger survives is it's instinct. Most animals are born with just knowing things. Play time among cubs also helps them gain skills like hunting. If you watch a kitten at play you will see her run and zip around like a crazy thing and then she will stop crouch down and stare at the catnip toy from across the room and out of no where she will jump up ans pounce on it. Now watch a full grown cat hunting a mouse... it is the same behavior..Tigers learn the same way :)

Well their stripes are very effective at breaking up their visible shape in the lush rainforest they live in making sneaking up on prey easier, as well as their very large, padded paws making them extremely quiet. Their eyes are more suited to low light and shade than say a lion which spends most of its time in bright light, although lions do most of their hunting at dusk and night time. A tigers teeth are extremely good at gripping prey while their retractable claws make a wolverine like appearance and do their job, then an extremely powerful neck and jaw help with eating its prey. Oh yeah the large padded paws are great for swimming which they do a fair bit of.

They are powerful hunters of the jungle so they can survive well. They also are near the top of the food chain.

Hope this helped.
