How is the sound produced of an oboe?

The reed of the Oboe is what creates the sound. When air is passed through the Oboe reeds the two blades of the reed open and close very quikly, and a sound is produced. The sound and vibrations from the reed cause the instrument to vibrate and produce a sound of its own, along with amplifying the original sound of the reed.
