The nicotine is out of your system in a few weeks. What is harder to overcome is the habit. When I quit I was in a high stress job and when ever I received a phone call, it was usually a problem calling and I would light a cigarette. I had to constantly remind myself. A big factor was I did not want to go through the last day again on the second day and the last 2 days again on the third day. I kept doing this until the urge was gone. Another hard part was being around people who smoked. The smell really got to me. Then I would light a cigarette but not inhale. Yes it helped when the urge was really strong, not to inhale. The next day I was not into the nicotine again.

Well when you consume large amounts of alcohol, the next day or two when the alcohol is leaving your system your body is going to tell your brain that you need more of it. The body dissapates alcohol at a rate of 1 unit per hour, to avoid slowing it down, dont eat fatty foods on a hangover, the body will digest them before the alcohol.

You should cut down if your consumption of alcohol begins to cause any problems in your life. If cutting down isn't enough, you should stop drinking entirely.

If drinking causes them to have any problems resulting from it they should cut back. If that isn't enough they need to stop drinking.
