A rain gauge is a piece of apparatus left outdoors, which collects water during rain. The user reads the amount of water off a scale.
You can use a vertical-sided container, and make your own measurements of the water depth. For meteorological purposes, a commercially manufactured instrument is used.
For precision, especially when falls are light, the gauge has a funnel, so that the water from a larger area is gathered into a narrower area. This means that the scale has to be enlarged, giving better readings.

It catches some of the rain into a graduated container so meteorologists can see how much rain is falling on a unit of area per unit of time.
Every time a rain gauge clicks it sends electric circuit closes and marks is recorded. This is a tool that is studied.
so when you have a rain gauge you can use it for rain you will measure the rain.
Pluviometer, ombrometer, udometer, and hyetometer are all terms meaning rain gauge, but rain gauge is the common term most often used and understood.
you can measure precipition by collecting the water in a bottle(beaker)1,oo. ml gratuaded cylinder.
Precipitation (rain, hail, sleet & snow) is caught in a rain gauge & runs into a glass container. The contents are then tipped into a standard gauge & measured in millimetres (mm). Snow & hail must be melted first before being measured.
to see the amount of rain in a certain area
mm of rain means the millimetres of rain that has fallen in a set period of time. To measure this accurately, a gauge can be used.
a rain gauge works by first making sure it rained, and seeing how many inches the rain filled up the rain gauge.

Yes, a rain gauge measures the amount of rain to fall above the gauge.
Yes a rain gauge measures rain fall
how do you find the variables to the rain gauge project
a rain gauge is a device used to measure rainfall
It is done with help of rain gauge
Rain gauge measure quantity of rain in average height of rainfall per unit area. Basically, any container with the same area from the top to bottom would do. Rain gauge can simply be made by putting any cylinder in the open and measure the height of water collected after rain. Some advance rain gauge would have a wider mouth for rain collection and the level would be made in ratio and transform the reading to mm of rain fall over the collector. Advantage of having larger collector is the more accuracy.
a rain gauge measures the amount of rain, snow, or any liquid that falls from the skyThe rain gauge measures the amount of water, snow or any liquid that falls from the sky, to view the water level
Rain gauge is basically used to meassure the amount of rain fall.
rain is measured with a rain gauge but i have no idea what a snow board is :)
they use rain gauge to measure rainfall.
