Believe it or not the red panda is considered a panda because it was the first known panda. Long ago people did not know of the black and white pandas but had knowledge of only the red panda. it depends on what knid of panda. a brown panda and a giant panda are basically the same, but the brown panda is brown as opposed to black. red pandas look much like raccoons, but are an orangey reddy browny kind of color. look up "giant panda" on google images and you will see a giant panda. imagine the black on that panda is a brown color, and you have a brown panda.
