Earth looks like a giant ball that is green and blue.

Not only does it have green and blue, but it is very brown too, with white for very snowy places and some white that you see on Earth are clouds too .

There are two ways to describe a location on earth's surface. The first is relative location which describes where a place is in relation to other known locations. The second, more precise technique, would be giving the latitude and longitude of the desired location.

The spherical shape of the planet is due to gravity, which compresses the planet into a shape that most evenly distributes the gravitational force among the mass.

The physical appearance (landmasses, mountains, and seas) are formed by ongoing changes in the Earth's crust. Most are related to the upwelling of heat from the interior of the Earth, driving the plate tectonics that move continents around. This very slow process creates islands, mountains, volcanoes, and many other landforms. Weather also changes the face of the planet, as with rivers, glaciation, and erosion of the rocks of the outer crust.
