The nucleus is made up of a special dust called fluffy. It is called fluffy because this dust could be as lightweight and full of holes like a sponge. The holes in the dust are filled with ices like water, carbon dioxide (dry ice), and carbon monoxide.

a comet is formed by ice and rock in space also some followed debree
Scientists believe that comets are pieces of dead planets from far far away.
Starting with the "solar nebula", they think a "protoplanetary disc" was formed.

From that came the "planetesimals" which went on to form the planets.

Comets are thought to be some of the planetesimals that were left over.
commets are cool, and heavy, they are produced and form by little cells called hydrolytes, they are in sapce and are fromed over years and years.
