Since the beginning of the 20th century, the government granted many concessions to log many areas in the Philippines. Since the second- growth rate takes between 30-35 years most did not take the time to replant, and only harvested the valuable trees, and left many burned, fallen over or to rot.

Illegal logging affects the environment in the Philippines because as we all know that trees are important to prevent flash floods. And Illegal logging is truly affect the environment. So as a student we should not cut trees and we should plant trees so that we can prevent from different phenomena. (Isogon, Prima Shaina student studying at LNHS 2012 ) I hope it help :))
