By volume liquid can occupy the shape of the container ,but has got a fixed volume unless and until subjected to expansion by change in temperature and pressure.

that way it is also compressible.

but on the other hand solid has got fixed volume and fixed shape. it is less compressible.

this is how they are different..

What is the relationship between the units of measurement for the volume of a liquid and of a solid liquid?

well a liquid cannot be a solid but i will interpret the question as this: what is the relationship between the units of measurement for the volume of a liquid and a solid? liquid volume- measured in mL solid volume- measured in cm cubed 1 mL=1cm cubed

What are the differences in solid liquid and gaseous states of matter?

The differences are in a solid the particles of itusually lines up in an organized pattern. The particles of a liquid move more than they do in the solid state .And in the gas diagram, the particles move around more freely so their volume and shape fit the shape and volume of the container.

How do you decide whether a sample of matter is a solid liquid or gas?

The differences between a solid, liquid and gas are simple! A solid is an object that has a set volume, and is hard to compress. A liquid will take the shape of its container, but is hard to compress. A gas will take the shape of its container, and is easy to compress.

What is the difference between the volume of metal solid to liquid?

If I understand the question correctly, the answer is that the solid is more dense than the liquid. In other words, the solid takes up less volume than the same mass of liquid.

What the difference between solids liquid gas?

a solid has definite volume and shape, a liquid has definite volume but no shape. a gas has nor volume nor shape

What are the Differences between sunflower oil and sunflower margarine?

ones solid and ones liquid

What are the differences between a molcule of a liquid and a solid?

An actual single molecule is no different in a gaseous, liquid or solid state. However the thermal (kinetic) energy present in it varies between the states.

What are the similarities and differences of solid liquid and gases in terms of their shape volume and mass?

beacause the solid has definate shape and volume a liquid has no definate shape a gas like liquid has no definate shape Volume is measured in cubic centimeter milliter (ml) Mass is directly related to the number and types of atoms present in the object

What is the relationship between the units of measurement for the volume of a liquid and one of a solid object?

Ones a liquid version of another.

Two differences between liquids and solids?

There are a few differences between liquids and solids. Two of these differences are that a solid is solid at room temperature, while a liquid remains fluid. A liquid will fill the shape of whatever container it rests in, while a solid maintains its shape.

Has a definite volume and shape?

Liquid

How a liquid and a solid different?

A solid has a fixed volume and form. A liquid has a fixed volume but has the form of a container. A gas has not a fixed volume or form.
