Searching for perfection is often related to experience. At first men with less experience (typically younger, but not always) are idealistic about what they are looking for in a woman.
As they learn more, they learn what the reality is, and they learn to understand what is really important and what is available.
If you're looking for a stable relationship you're better off finding men that are more experienced and sure about what they actually are looking for.
