In order to change a bulb in the tail light of a Chevy Celebrity you must remove the tail light assembly from the car. To remove the tail light assembly" 1. In the trunk next to the quarter panel there are nuts that hold the rear header on, the center nut holds the tail light assembly on. It will be in the center of the tail light assembly near the outer edge. Take the nut off and pull the tail light assembly out until the stud clears the body. 2. Pull the tail light assembly to the side to disengage the tabs from the backup light panel. 3. Twist the appropriate socket to remove it from the tail light assembly, then unplug the lamp and replace it. Reverse the steps to reinstall the tail light assembly.

Found it myself: Remove the six retaining pins that hold the trunk liner to the lid. Remove the center bolt that fastens the light assembly to the trunk lid. From the exterior, unscrew the two screws that fasten the light assembly to the lid. Squeeze the plastic lens clip and remove the lamp assembly. Remove the two electrical leads so that the bulb can be replaced. Reverse the procedure to re-assemble. The entire process takes about 15-20 minutes.

There are 2 plastic straps on the back side of the head light assembly which are held in place by a 5/16" nut. Simply loosen the bolts on both straps about 2 full turns, remove the straps by pulling upward then out, and bring the head light assembly forward to access and remove the light bulb assembly. Note that the light bulb assembly includes a plug. Simply unplug the entire assembly. Do not attempt to remove the light bulb and try not to touch the new bulb assembly with your hands when replacing it.
