A flower needs water to grow because it needs to hydrate and it is a living thing so it needs to "eat".A flower is a delecate thing. It needs water because the soil it is planted in is like the the "mouth" and when its dry you drink water.

I THINK THAT FLOWER NEED WATER SO THAT IT WILL HELP THEM GROW BECUASE THE BODY OF FLOWER NEED WATER SO IT CAN TRANSPORT IT TO THE ROOT AND THEN THE ROOT CAN TRANPSORT BACK TO THE SEED AND THE SEED EAT IT OR DRINK IT.

Without water plants (like most living organisms) will wither and die. Without water plants become dessicated, the cell structure in the plant is changed or damaged and the cells die.

Additionally, nutrients in the soil are also absorbed into the plant in solution, this means they have to be disolved in water in order to be taken into the roots of the plant - here water acts as a medium.
