the salinity level effect what animals live in that body of water. certin animals need certin amounts of salt and others can't have a too high salinity level so only certin types of marine life and live in a certin part of water. pods of herring and other fishes like that live in the atlantis oceans because they won't die from the huge amount of salt in the water and they need salt water to live reporduce and live.

The brine generated as a wastewater during desalination is heavier than seawater, so if incorrectly discharged to the ocean would sink to the bottom. In addition, the brine is devoid of dissolved oxygen as a result of the desalination process.

If it is released into calm water it can sink to the bottom as a plume of salty water that can kill organisms on the sea bed from a lack of oxygen.

It's important to model the release of water to enable the design of appropriate brine mixing and dispersion, so avoiding plume build-up on the sea bed.

The salt, especially because of the lack of oxygen in the plume, must be well mixed and released, preferably by a high energy coastline.

marine organisms have a low concentration of salt and a high concentration of water, the water tries to leave the cells of the organism because of the concentration gradient (the low concentration of water in the salt water in comparison), so the organism has to overcome osmosis.

For human life, increasing the temperature causes increasing the level of water in seas and oceans. Hence, a lot of lands will covered by water and long coasts will disappeared. For marine life, fish's and other marine organisms affect strongly by the temperature of water. The main danger for these organisms is the decrease of the level of oxygen in water which may kill them.
