If it is above it, the rock layer came after the intrusion. if the intrusion went through the rock layer is older because they layer had to be there in order for the intrusion to go through.

How does a sedimentary rock contain pieces of igneous rocks?

Igneous rock pieces can stick together through cementation to form sedimentary rocks.

Describe how an igneous rock may become transformed into other rock types and back into igneous rock?

Describe how an igneous rock may become transformed into other rock types and back into igneous rock? The Igneous Rock would have to go through many stages known as the Rock Cycle. The Rock Cycle steps would be: Igneous Rock than it would have to go threw erosion to become a Sedimentary Rock than it would have to go through Heat and Pressure to become a Metamorphic Rock. Then The Metamorphic Rock would have to go through melting to become a Molten Rock (Lave/Magma). Then finally it would have to go through cooling to become a Igneous Rock again<3[: ---♥PandaBabby69♥

How much money would you get by selling an igneous rock?

Probably not very much, igneous rocks are caused through the cooling of magma or larva and are very common on earth. Granite and Basalt are examples of igneous rocks.

How does a sedimentary rock turn into a metamorphic rock then into an igneous rock?

First, through metamorphism, then by melting and magmatism.

How can rock change from sedimentary to a metamorphic rock to igneous rock?

A short answer is that igneous may undergo crystalline restructuring and change under significant heat and pressure (though not enough to completely liquefy it). These changes occur underground and eventually the rock may be considered metamorphic.Igneous rocks that are exposed may be weathered and small particles deposited at riverbeds or ocean bottoms. After a long enough time, in the right conditions, these fragments bond together (much like concrete) to form sedimentary rock.

When magma rises what geological formation can result?

If it has broken through the Earth's crust then it would be a igneous extrusion and a volcano can form. If it hasn't complete broke through the crust it would be a igneous intrusion. Depending if the intrusion was concordant or discordant with the bedding planes it would be either a sill or a dyke.

What is the relative age of fault or igneous intrusion that cuts through an unconformity?

If a fault or intrusion cuts through an unconformity, the fault or intrusion is younger than all the rocks it cuts through above and below the unconformity.

What geologic law is applied if an igneous intrusion is observed through a layer of sedimentary rock?

law of crosscutting relationships.

How does igneous intrusion end up as a hill?

Basically, igneous intrusion involves the solidifying of magma when it cools in the crust of the Earth. When magma rises through the crust, it intrudes into the existing sedimentary rock layers and forms a hill. The surounding rock may be more prone to erosion and wear away leaving the intrusion jutting above the (eroded) surroundings.

How do you spell extrusion?

That is the correct spelling of "extrusion" (forming by pressing through a die or opening).

What is an intrusion in science terms?

Intrusive is a term that applies to igneous rocks that form from magma underground such as granite.

How does extrusion differ from forging?

extrusion is when billet is forced through the die. Rolling is by compressible of forces applied through a set of rolls. Forging is the workpiece is shaped by compressive forces applied through various dies and tooling

How do they manufacture brass ammo cases?

Through extrusion and forming dies.
