The person of mass (m) exerts the same force on the ground both standing up and lying down. This can be easily seen through Newtons Second Law ie F = ma.

Knowing that pressure is defined as force over area (P = F/Area), it can be seen that the person standing up is applying more pressure to the ground.

Pressure is the force exerted on an area divided by that area. When you stand or lie down the force you exert is your weight. So when you lie down the force of your weight is spread out over a larger area then when you stand up and the pressure will be less when lying down. I would estimate standing up produces about 6 times more pressure as laying down.

Since your weight remains constant, the only variable is the area. Pressure is the ratio of Force to Area, implying that the larger the area the smaller the pressure and vice versa. Since lying down translate into occupying a larger area than when standing up, a lower pressure is exerted on the floor while lying compared to when standing on the floor.

There is more pressure when the man is standing, since pressure is the amount of force acting on a certain area and is calculated by dividing the force by the area. When a man is standing, the area of contact with the ground is less than the area of contact when lying down. Since his weight is constant, there is more pressure when he is standing.

You exert less pressure lying down. When you lie down, you spread the force of your weight over a larger area, thus exerting less pressure.

When the man is standing. Pressure is defined as force divided by area. The force doesn't change in this case - the man basically weighs the same, whether he is standing or lying.
